The 490 Arcane from Benchmade Knives is stylish and performance driven assisted flipper folding knife. With smooth, modern lines, ultralight construction, high performance blade and fast flipper deployment, this knife has it all. The 490 comes with a stonewashed CPM-S90V stainless steel blade and black, hard anodized aluminum handles.

Blade:Â This drop point comes in at just under 3.25 inches delivering plenty of cutting edge for your daily tasks. Made from premium, American CPM-S90V stainless steel with a tumbled satin finish, the plain edge blade offers exceptional edge retention and corrosion resistance with a thin, high saber grind for enhanced slicing while retaining good durability. Rocketing out of the handle at a press of its low-profile integral flipper tab the blade is ready at a moments notice thanks to the AXIS-assist mechanism. A slide safety on the side of the handle prevents unintentional deployment during carry.
Handle:Â Dual slabs of Black Anodized 7075-T6 Aluminum are joined in a faux-integral construction for lightweight durability and a very clean look. Highly resistant to corrosion, 7075 is also able to match most steel alloys in terms of strength making it a great choice for this use. Contoured, with smooth chamfered edges and subtle finger grooves, this handle brings a high level of comfort while being secure in the grip. A smooth, reliable AXIS lock mechanism makes the Arcane full ambidextrous with the addition of a slide safety offering even more security during heavy use. A generous hole at the pommel allows for easy lanyard attachment.
Carries via a reversible, tip-up, stainless steel deep carry pocket clip.
CPM-S90V:Â A unique tool steel made using the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process, CPM S90V offers substantial improvements in edge retention over 440C and D2, and other high chromium steels, with corrosion resistance equal to or better than 440C. S90V is an excellent choice where edge retention and corrosion resistance are key.
